Other Projects
I made the banner image for this site! If you're on mobile you might not see it well. It took forever and is based off two series of CT images of the foot found here:
A gift I made for a friend. I bleached black fabric to create a realistic-ish bone color. The rest is embroidery. This won second place in a University-wide student art contest for the '22-'23 school year.
I was the only one dumb enough to run the Blue Hens Homecoming 5k pushing a stroller with a 32-lbs, 4 year-old kid in it. I know 5k isn't a huge distance, but did I mention the course was hilly and a large portion was uneven gravel?
This is a full coverage cross stitch I made in honor of my daughter's birth. The picture was a photo my husband took of an iconic mountain near the hospital she was born in. This is a 10x14 piece with 16 stitches per inch, which means it's a total of 35,840 stitches. The ONLY reason I actually finished this project was because of covid lockdown.
Apparently we have a brick path in our backyard. The bricks had sunk into the ground and was covered by grass and pachysandra.
A picture after removing all the dirt and grass from the bricks, pulling each brick up, building up the base, then relaying each brick. phhew...
Another gift for a friend. A rainbow-scrap dino quilt for her newborn son. I secretly wish I had kept this one. It had glow-in-the-dark dinosaur bone fabric on the back.
I found an ugly orange bookshelf by the dumpster. Someone had tried to prolong its life with scotch tape and picture-hanging nails. Needless to say, their efforts failed.
The first picture is what it looked like after I had taken it apart, sanded all the orange stain off and reattached everything but the back. The second picture is the finished product.
Bathroom renovation before (above) and after (right). I had to remove everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, including multiple layers of flooring, the vanity and the toilet. I never want to deal with another wax toilet ring again.
My favorite embroidery.
